  As a general employee, I participated in everyday operations as sort of a jack of all trades. I performed multiple construction tasks including roofing, re-siding, demolition, cleanup, and landscaping. I also had a secondary duty of recovering any valuable scrap that would accumulate on the construction sites. This contributed to company profitability at the rate of 12 cents per pound of scrap on average.In addition to gaining skills related directly to construction, working at Vaccar Remodeling showed me how demanding work can be and helped instill the work ethic required to succeed in a highly demanding workplace.   Warehouse Associate

  As a warehouse associate I performed general day to day tasks as asked of me around the warehouse. This included picking & packing materials, driving heavy equipment, and reorganizing stock. I worked alongside other employees to ensure following of company procedure.I worked with management to devise a workaround strategy in company hardware and software. This was in order to increase efficiency during the picking of materials. I also consistently overperformed the average picking standard of 100 lines per shift by 20 lines or more. Placing amongst the top 4 in efficiency, which aided in clearing backlogged orders.Challenges arose early in the course of my employment due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The emergence of COVID-19 protocols before my employment period meant that there was more I's to dot and T's to cross. However, learning in a more rigid environment helped me pick up more skills along the way. Show less

  My role as HR Coordinator consists primarily of working with the HR team in determining and filling our companies staffing needs. As part of this I assist with recruiting efforts on entry level positions through resume review, phone screening, reference checking and behavioral based interviewing.In addition to recruiting I assist with any training and onboarding projects that need additional support. This support is provided on an at needs basis and could include anything from admin duties, set up, or behind the scenes coordination. Show less As an HR Intern at McGohan Brabender, my primary duty was assisting with a multitude of HR functions, mainly recruiting. This included scheduling and shadowing interviews as well as reviewing resumes.In addition to those duties, I also played a role as admin support which involved tasks such as working the front desk taking calls and scheduling meetings, as well as miscellaneous projects such as completing an employee yearbook for upper management.Lastly, I also worked with a team of other interns to create a presentation based around leadership and improving manager employee relations. At the conclusion of our internship we presented our findings before a panel of company executives and leaders. Show less
