  • About me

I strive to ask the right questions, and systematically find the solution. Communication is the key to a smooth functioning of any organization ! I make sure that my message is conveyed in a clear, concise and simple manner. I see beauty in math, and acknowledge the power of mathematical modelling in analyzing any mechanical system. I consider my and my team's continuous improvement : personally, professionally, and socially, as an ultimate goal, which i believe eventually leads to the success of an organization.

Executing projects to automate the production and testing of standard electrical switchgear products (for eg. MCB).During this job, I learned- Working with various tools such as programmable controllers, various sensors and actuators, vibratory feeders, monitoring and control systems such as SCADA, and various software such as LABVIEW in order to automate production or a testing process- Project Management- Networking with various vendors - Designing models and generating technical drawings on CAD software - Technical documentation Show less

      Project Work

Fluid Solid Interaction (FSI) simulation of a spacecraft nozzle. In this project, the interaction between the fluid and structure was numerically simulatedfor a 2D convergent-divergent type rocket nozzle, with the purpose of understandingthe interaction behavior between the nozzle structure and the exhaustgases. Some of the things I learned while working for this project was: - How to model a 3D problem as a 2D problem using appropriate assumptions.- The theory behind shock waves and equations governing compressible fluid dynamics. - Numerically modelling the interaction between the fluid and structure. - Various pre-processing tools such as MATLAB for creating specific geometry profiles and GMSH for meshing.- Various post-processing tools such as Tecplot and Paraview. - Analysis of a multi-physics problem. Development of a Scaling Method to Avoid Re-Meshing in the Case of Geometrical Changes Within the Numerical Modelling of Continuous Casting Processes. To put it simply, my thesis task was to incorporate a certain type of boundary condition in the numerical modelling of a continuous casting process, in real-time. This boundary condition implied that there is a change in the geometry, and therefore the mesh of the model. Since the objective was to simulate the process in real-time, one cannot afford the extra time required for re-meshing and solver initialization. I wrote a method in the solver which emulates the effect of this boundary condition by scaling the solution field in such a way that there is no need to change the geometry and mesh of the model, thus, saving valuable re-meshing time. I learned a lot during my Master Thesis. Some of the things that I learned are : - Implementation of various numerical discretization schemes in a solver. Here's when I actually understood what I learned in CFD classes.- Of course, the numerical modelling of a continuous casting process. - Software development in a team. Importance of testing and validating your code, and providing intermediate solutions to your team in case of some delays. - Some project management tools such as Trello and Gantt Chart to visualize the progress and keep everything on schedule.
