Jul 2008 - Jul 2010Public Art ManagerCarried out a “3-year Public Art Plan (2007 – 2010)” developed by the Clackamas County Commissioners and the County’s Public Art Steering Committee, as well as the near-term priorities of the “Red Soil Public Art Element Master Plan”, which focused on the new home of Clackamas County operations.• Managed the planning, selection and installation of 9 major public artworks throughout Clackamas County with project budgets ranging from $5000 - $80,000, while serving as a central hub of communication between artists, the County, developers, builders/contractors, and stakeholder committees and ensuring every detail from the recognition plaque to the maintenance instructions for the artwork were in place.• Established a selection and scheduling process for the organization’s Artist Exhibit Program in collaboration with the Exhibit Coordinator, which are monthly exhibitions of the work of local artists at 8 public locations throughout the County and included communications to local media outlets. Aug 2010 - May 2015New Visions Gallery DirectorHired to provide a fresh vision for the gallery (following directors with 25- and 10-year tenures), while also carrying out the gallery mission and daily activities (program management and development, financial management and development, personnel management, marketing and communications, and strategic planning and implementation) and to accomplish the Board of Director’s goal of creating more opportunities for connection outside of Marshfield Clinic and in the Marshfield community.• Expanded the reach of the gallery into the community by writing and receiving a competitive Wisconsin Arts Board grant 4 years in a row to support the creation and continuation of a Phantom Art Galleries project, which displayed the work of local artists in vacant storefronts around town.• Fostered relationships with local business owners, the Marshfield Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), artists, and other non-profit organizations to launch the Creative Marshfield Weekend, featuring street pianos, yarn bombing, visual art and music events throughout the community, a plein air paint-off, and the 52nd annual Marshfield Art Fair – all of which brought ~6400 people to a town of 20,000, increasing tourism to the area.• Raised over $90,000 in one night (49% of the organization’s operating budget) through an annual fundraising gala, Fun d’ Arts, by generating creative giving opportunities and engaging donors in the gallery’s needs.• Strengthened relationships with individual and corporate donors, whose giving amounts totaled $60,000 of a $182,000 annual budget and saved the gallery $2000 annually by digitizing and personalizing donation solicitations. Mar 2011 - nowHired to support and continue to build a robust and engaged alumni network; to recruit exceptional physics and chemistry students to the program; to provide student mentorship and support; and to support the Assistant Director in marketing and communications activity for the program.• Engaged and built relationships with alumni by planning and hosting 25 alumni networking events, which drew a total attendance of over 700. • Enhanced recruitment activity by visiting new schools, advancing inclusion and diversity initiatives and supporting others on the recruitment team, resulting in a 19% increase of underrepresented groups within the student population between 2016 and 2020.• Planned and facilitated a series of weekly inclusion and diversity workshops (9 – 2 hr sessions per summer in 2018, 2019 and 2020) tackling a variety of often sensitive subjects and featuring content experts, which drew ~65% of enrolled students, despite being an optional program offering.• Built relationships with corporate partners of the program through planning and hosting company-specific alumni events, supporting the program’s annual networking and interview event, and through connecting hiring managers to talent from the alumni network to maintain successful student outcomes (90% of graduates are employed within 3 months of graduation).• Launched the program’s social media platform and developed a social media strategic plan to expand reach and connect with more prospective students, corporate partners (and prospective partners), and alumni, while also helping with the core marketing strategies and design / update of marketing materials for the program. Also recruited to serve as Communications Manager for the Oregon Arts in Healthcare Research Consortium, to manage alumni relations, and to recruit undergraduate students to a newly launched major.• Created and continually improved curriculum and provided classroom instruction for online and in-person versions of two undergraduate courses over six years and 26 sections of the courses with class sizes ranging from 40 to 85 students.• Developed curriculum for a new course, Arts Management, for newly launched undergraduate major over 1.5 years and 3 sections of the course with class sizes ranging from 20-40 students.• Exceeded expectations for recruitment of students to the Arts Management undergraduate major by having 35 undergraduate students declare within the launch year.
