  As a R&D Chemist in this coating resin manufacturer, I had responsibilities and achievements as follow:• Ensured laboratory operation comply with OHS, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.• Collaboratively supervised 20 laboratory technicians (3 shifts) in implementing Good Laboratory Practices.• Managed the storage and administration of hundreds of raw material samples for testing.• Assisted marketing team in providing technical services (e.g. TDS, MSDS, poster, one-pager, product modification request, etc).• Assisted procurement team in sourcing of raw material sample.• Assisted QC/QA team in validation and development of analytical testing methods.• Collaborated with the production and logistics departments in handling 25 tons of abnormal products and 10 tons of abnormal raw materials.• Simulated production process of waterborne acrylic dispersion with high conductivity water and cross-contamination tolerance test of various products during production.• Developed new innovative products and synthetic methods including:o Synthesis of bio-based monomer (terpinyl acrylate and mono-/di-terpinyl maleate).o Utilization of zirconium-based solid acid catalyst in alkyd resin synthesis.o Synthesis of blocked-diamine (diketimine) crosslinker as counter product of aspartic crosslinker.*• Modified existing products to fulfill market demand including:o Formulated urethane modified alkyl waterborne dispersion as counter product of WorleeSol E150W.*o Formulated cationic waterborne acrylic dispersion as counter product of NeoCryl XK-350.*o Formulated waterborne styrene-acrylic dispersion for waterproofing membrane as counter product of Acronal PS 755 ap.** Samples have been sent to customer.
