  Intern at Satellite Operations Centre

  Learned about the ongoing operational procedures of ESA satellites such as Msg 1/2/3/4 and Meteop A/B/C. I learned how the satellites both sent and received data from the ground stations, and some simple procedures that can be performed on the satellites. In the flight dynamics group I was taught how satellites reach orbit, how they maintain it, and what acts can be done to alter an orbit.

  Intern at Planetary Defense Office

  Analysed the effect of SpaceX's Starlink satellite constellation on astronomical observation from earth. Considered aspects of the satellites such as size, reflectability, and velocity over the camera. Simulated the proposed optimal structure of the constellation with an application that mimics the vision of an astronomical observatory.
