  MEng Thesis:A Study of the Mechanical Properties of Hybrid Fibre Reinforced Concrete After Exposure to Elevated TemperaturesThis was an experimental based thesis designed to study the post fire performance of hybrid fibre reinforced concrete. This project required not only good technical knowledge and understanding but also extensive planning and organisational skills.   I had a nine-week summer placement working as part of a multi-national structural design team. During my time at Atkins I worked on various projects at different stages of maturity, gaining experience in both reinforced concrete and steel design. I also visited a variety of sites, gaining an insight into onsite engineering, and the construction industry in a different part of the world.

  FoundOcean is a SME contractor who provides offshore grouting services to the oil and gas and offshore renewables industries.During my time with FoundOcean I was accountable for the timely delivery and execution of multi-million pound offshore grouting programmes. I was responsible for full life cycle project management of the contract from initial tender, through on site works management to final contract close out.Whilst working offshore my responsibilities include overall supervision of plant and personnel, responsibility for safety and QA/QC applications and liaison with client. On major projects I assumed the role of Supervisor and take responsibility for the delivery of operations offshore. Show less

  Responsible for the supervision of all works conducted from the dedicated grouting vessel. Ensuring that all works were carried out to with the highest regard to HSE and quality. I ensured that the interests of EnBW were represented offshore at all times.During my time working on this project I introduced detailed project tracking and forecasting, weekly HSE inspections and improved the accuracy of the offshore reporting.

  I worked within the RWE Renewables Offshore Construction Technical Services [OCTS] team; a central function, multi-disciplinary engineering group that provided technical engineering support to the whole of RWEs offshore wind portfolio.The team provided support to all stages of an offshore wind project, from origination to decommissioning with a strong focus on leading the engineering and delivery of complex, one of a kind, marine projects.During this time I was the Project Manager for the decommissioning of the Blyth Offshore Wind Farm, the UKs first offshore wind farm.The team also acted to provide a central knowledge base for lessons learned dissemination and implementation across the wider offshore business.
