  Through my time interning at the animal hospital, I learned how to complete all of the same tasks as the veterinary assistants. From heartworm checks, laboratory test performance; such as blood, urine and fecal screenings, animal handling and restraining, and assisting with preparing animal patients for surgery or examination. This internship helped to shape me into a better candidate for veterinary school and helped me gain experience to prepare me for employment in a veterinary clinic. Interning at The Ridge Animal Hospital revealed to me that I am one hundred percent certain that working with animals is my calling and what I am most passionate about. Show less
