      • Test engineer and operator during light gas turbine (800 – 15,000 hp) engine tests. All engines were originally manufactured by Solar Turbines and are part of the Saturn, Centaur, Taurus or Mars engine lines. Engines are a variety of fuel/emissions/model/shaft configurations. - Complete Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and brief crew before each test- Complete pre-test, performance test, and post- test checklists- Actively monitor a multitude of systems during test including, but not limited to: fuel, lube oil, cooling water, vibration (proximity probes, accelerometers, velocimeters), emissions, and dynamometer/power.- Determine optimum turbine light off set points and inlet guide vane settings - Tune DLN and Wet NOx units for optimum emissions, and map both emissions and performance- Maintain constant video and radio communication with team members during engine testing to ensure safety of the crew- Create test reports to provide to the customer- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control systems problems as they arise- Write new PLC code to optimize or expand test facility capabilities - Lead scheduling meetings for test cell usage/capacity- Tracked testing KPI's (Key Performance Indicators) to report to senior management• Commissioned new parallel fuel system for both Centaur/Taurus test berth and Mars test berth- Wrote new PLC code in Rockwell RSLogix to control turbine using parallel fuel valve configuration- Successfully tested Ultra-Low NOx Taurus 60 and Mars 100 turbines, both achieving less than 4 ppm NOx at full load• Project manager and technical lead for $500,000 worth of CAPEX projects for upgrading the test cell HMI (Human Machine Interface) and Vibration Monitoring system. • Project lead and single point of contact for numerous improvement and maintenance projects in the test cell Show less Two year rotational program consisting of four six-month assignments within business units across Wood Group Gas Turbine Services.4th Rotation:Design & Quality Engineer - Advanced Parts Manufacture AG - Baden, Switzerland• Defined Critical to Quality (CTQ) dimensions and features for WG manufactured hot gas path turbine components- Completed Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for each component- Revised engineering manufacturing drawings and specifications to reflect newly defined CTQs3rd Rotation:Commercial Operations - Major Maintenance Americas - Houston, TX• Automated parts & repairs proposal generation process using Qvidian software• Established standard format & content to be used in all parts & repairs proposals• Developed all-encompassing database for parts, repair, and field service capabilities and costs2nd Rotation:Field Service Engineer - Field Service Operations - Humble, TX (Field Experience in Texas, Alabama & Jamaica)• Provided on-site logistical and technical support to major & minor inspections of gas & steam heavy industrial turbines• Developed, tracked, and updated project schedules for planned turbine maintenance outages• Coordinated with supervisors, customers, and subcontractors to ensure project continuity • Re-designed tool container interior layout to improve safety and organization, maximize tool storage capacity, and minimize time wasted finding and inventorying tools1st Rotation:Repairs Engineer - Oil, Gas & Industrial Services - Houston, TX• Built 3D CAD models of high-priority turbine engine parts• Determined acceptable tolerance limits and designated repair procedures to restore damaged engine components to serviceable condition • Prepared technical documentation to assist with inspection and repair of engine components• Created computer program to optimize blade distributions to minimize/control static imbalance • Designed, built, and tested a tool to check functionality of RTD temperature sensors Show less
