  Required to work within a team of developers to create custom software for vending machine related businesses. I was involved in the full development life cycle, and coordinated efforts with team members and clients alike.Projects involved working on Windows based PC’s and palm computers running WinCE. SQL was used frequently, along with Web-services, and object orientated design, and the compact framework. For developing I used a mix of VB6, VB.NET and C# with some projects using ASP.NET.My last project consisted of a Web-Service written in C#, a desktop client written in VB.NET, and an application for WinCE using both VB.NET and C#. Using GPRS the hand-held device (Psyon Netpad) connected to the web-service to send and retrieve data for vending engineers. This data ranges from statistics read from vending machines (Infra-red) to daily stock takes. The web-service reads and stores this data in an SQL server 2k database. Finally, administrators can view data using the desktop software, as well as assigning engineer tasks/jobs.As well as applications programming and support, I was also solely responsible for the company artwork and animations. This included any video, music, images, logos or posters etc, they wanted designing. This often included designing and printing decals for the sides and front of vending machines, usually for our clients. My work to date has included “Fitness First”, “Rite Price Ink”, “ROKO” and “Cadburys”.My work also included graphical interfaces for our software. This has included web based, desktop, hand-held, and some vending machine touch screens.All artwork was designed using Photoshop, Paintshop, 3D Studio Max 7, GIMP, Flash MX or Fireworks. Show less

  Software Engineer: As senior developer to a team primarily working with win-forms .net development, I was responsible for mentoring, and checking other team members work. In addition I developed and maintained the software often in crucial areas. Iris Legal Software develops software for solicitors, barristers, Accountants, and coroners. The software is such that we needed to pay careful attention to our work to ensure our software adhered to the ever changing laws and regulations. I am happy to say I played a large part in this development. My work was often surprising and challenging. I worked in C#, though have occasional use of other languages.I was responsible for team lead duties when the normal team lead was away, and was trusted to work on my own initiative during challenging times.Our main products, MLC and ILB are both multi tier applications using SQL 2000 & 2008 database back-ends. Processing data is mostly done through stored procedures, and validation done in code. A web layer allows the software to be accessed via the internet, and all is written in C# on the .NET Framework 3.5. Show less

  In my role as Manager at Co-Graph, I was responsible for the design, development, and project tracking within a small team of skilled developers. Utilizing Redmine for task assignment, I successfully managed a diverse range of projects across Web, PC, Smart Speakers, and Drones.Key Project:Mayai: During the COVID-19 pandemic, I led the development of Mayai, a project initiated to fulfill the CEO's vision. Mayai is an intelligent system designed to manage phone conversations for businesses, allowing seamless request forwarding via email and eliminating the need for office staff to answer calls. The system can handle reservations, process restaurant orders, and provide guided advice through a custom scripting language. I oversaw the development of language understanding and speech-to-text capabilities tailored specifically for this project. Mayai integrates with phone lines via Asterisk, and utilizes Javascript, NodeJS, and VueJS for both the backend and frontend development.Aico: Aico is a custom smart speaker-based receptionist system designed for companies. Leveraging a Google Home device, the system enables visitors to request the representative they wish to speak to and provide a brief summary of their visit. Aico then sends the necessary details as a Slack message or email to the appropriate staff member, ensuring timely alerts about incoming visitors. Show less

  As the Director and sole developer at CARAMEL.code, I oversee all coding, hardware setup, and procurement activities while designing interactive software and devices tailored for our clients.Key Projects:Matoatte: Developed an interactive, touch-based game that allows players to engage with a projected display using hands, balls, sticks, or other objects. Utilizing a LIDAR sensor, Matoatte offers customizable gameplay suitable for all ages. Currently, four distinct games are available, each designed for specific customer needs or playable in their original formats, all developed using Unity.Visibby: Created during the COVID-19 pandemic, this platform enables audiences to safely interact with live events through their smartphones, allowing them to send stamps, messages, and participate in real-time quizzes. Audience responses are displayed live on a large screen. Visibby was developed with Unity for the frontend and employs Javascript, VueJS, Less, and MongoDB for the backend and mobile interface.My experience at CARAMEL.code has enriched my understanding of video production, live event management, and a variety of related hardware, including camera types, switchers, and the effective use of fill and key lighting techniques.
