Responsible for securing water conservation projects to reduce water consumption, through the use of high efficiency/low flow toilets, in hotels/motels, commercial office buildings, apartment complexes, and senior care facilities. Also responsible for developing and training a sales team to do the same. Funding for the projects came from local water municipalities rebate money, and the project ended when the rebate monies ran out for this cycle in June of 2011.

Responsible mainly for locating apartments, condos, and college dorms/student housing to offer them a no-cost device that improves the efficiency of their central hot water heaters. The program is called On Demand Efficiency ( ODE ) and funding for the program is paid for entirely by rebate money from Southern California Gas Company, or Pacific Gas and Electric, so the recipient pays nothing to enjoy the benefit of the product. ( See enovativegroup.com or odeprogram.com for details about the product and the program. ) Also responsible for locating residential houses in the LADWP territory that would like to have their turf removed at no cost, and have drought resistant plants installed in its place, again at no cost as rebate money from LADWP pays for the entire cost of the project. Position also involves locating apartments and condo associations that need to have their toilets upgraded to low flow, high efficiency 1.0 gallons per flush toilet. Rebate money is available again for this program, however a co-pay of around $50.00 per toilet is required for residences outside of the LADWP territory. The co-pay includes the removal of the old toilet, installation of the new one, and disposal of the old one. For more info, please email me at [email protected], or call me at 562-537-6943 Show less

Responsible for marketing a variety of lighting products to apartments, care facilities, hotels/motels, etc. that are generally paid for by rebate money from the local utility, in this case, Southern California Edison. Programs using rebate money and the utilities that offer them change frequently. Currently my focus is on locating businesses in the San Diego Gas and Electric Territory that currently have florescent light bulbs in their businesses, and by using rebate money from SDG&E, we are able to replace them with new high efficiency LED lighting at no cost to the business owner, as the entire cost of the project is being paid for by the rebate money from SDG&E. Steward of the Second District, Long Beach, CA. Suja Lowenthal, 2nd District City Councilwoman, Long Beach, CA. Jul 2010 Beginning in 2008, a 13 unit apartment building located in my neighborhood was purchased by new owners who evicted all of the tenants, and due to a loophole in the law, they were able to put multiple sex offenders and parolees into one bedroom apartments, and benefit financially as the owners were being paid by the state of California a sum of money for each offender to house them there. Our neighborhood was immediately turned upside down as crime rose, and tenants in surrounding building vacated their buildings, fearing for their safety and security. I led a group of local apartment building owners and managers in an effort to have the laws changed so that greedy landlords could not profit from this loophole in the law and cluster sex offenders. After speaking to the mayor and council members at city council meetings, and after many other meetings with local and state officials, we were able to have the laws changed so that sex offenders and parolees cannot be clustered in multi-unit housing in the city of Long Beach, California. It took two years, and a lot of hard work, be we were able to accomplish this. It was a group effort, but for my leadership in coordinating these efforts, I was given this award at a presentation made by my city councilwoman, Suja Lowenthal. Show less

I appeared in over 30 of these re-enactments, playing everything from rapists to robbers, to murderers. I was also involved in casting the re-enactments. From there I was offered a position on the Board of Directors, where I attended the monthly meetings where we determined how much reward money we would be offering an informant who gave law enforcement officials information that led to the arrest and felony charges filed against a suspect. After several years on the board, I became President of the Tacoma/Pierce County Crime Stoppers board, and in addition to voting on how much reward money to give an informant at the monthly meetings, I was responsible for coordinating fund raising efforts, including speaking at local Rotary and other various local groups, with the hopes of securing funds from that group to add to our reward pool. In addition, I oversaw the monthly meetings for a period of two years, when my tenure as President ended. Shortly after moving to southern California in October of 1999, I was elected by unanimous consent to the office of Director Emeritus. The position was newly created to recognize an individual and long standing contributions of seasoned Directors. I was the first person to receive this honor, and when I am in Tacoma/Pierce County, I maintain my voting privileges and can participate in the workings of the Board to the extent that I wish.
