  I worked full-time as an intern at the Carroll County Health Department in Westminster, MD. I worked under the Environmental Health bureau doing health education. My responsibilities included assisting the site supervisor with various tasks, attending meetings, reviewing literature, aiding in program planning, and aiding in communicating with the community through health fairs and creating informational handouts. I was also responsible for working alongside Caring Carroll, Safe Kids, Kids in Safety Seats, the Partnership for a Healthier Carroll County, and Injury Prevention. Show less

  My responsibilities included: educating families on various health related topics, connecting families to support services in the community, helping families reach their goals, implementing strategies to help those we serve, facilitating parent-driven meetings, providing resources to assist the family’s specific needs, keeping families up to date with medical work, and taking action to facilitate emergency intervention when needed.

  Social Media Manager, Administrative Officer III - My communications responsibilities include: social media manager, social media content developer, Public Information Officer back-up, creating handouts (flyers, rack cards, pamphlets), creating billboards and other marketing designs and campaigns, developing a brand identity for the health department (i.e. through social media design, flyers/pamphlets, billboards, and other public health messaging), and aiding in communicating all health department efforts with the community. Community Health Educator II -My health education responsibilities include: coordinating the employee wellness program for health department staff, co-coordinating the Carroll County Safe Kids Coalition, installing child safety seats, instructing basic life support (BLS/CPR) courses for Carroll County Health Department Staff, and lifestyle coaching for the CDC recognized Diabetes Prevention Program, and I am certified to teach Youth Mental Health First Aid. I am also a Caring Carroll board member and a board member for the Community Service Council in Carroll County, MD. In 2020, I also worked as a Public Information Officer for the COVID-19 pandemic. These responsibilities include: social media management, website building, press inquiries, coordinating public education efforts, coordinating and assisting with vaccine registration, and aiding in communicating all health department efforts with the community.
