Responsible for two government owned contractor operated defense plants located in Pittsfield, Massachusetts and Burlington Vermont. General Dynamics Defense Systems, over five thousand employees with sales over $630M. Led team to ensure contract compliance between the government and industry. Led the monitoring, inspecting, all processes to include production, manufacturing, engineering, quality control, supply chain management, systems and processes, obsolescence parts, earned value engineering, lean six sigma process improvements. Personnel skill sets ranged from software engineers, mechanical engineers, industrial engineers, quality inspectors, price analysis, and contracting specialists. Products produced included major components for Army Bradley Fighting Vehicle, Cobra Helicopter, and Fire Control Systems for Trident Nuclear Missile, Mortar and Rockets and Light Armored Vehicle. Successfully managed three corporate transitions from Martin Marietta to Lockheed Martin then to General Dynamics. Our team had the highest requirement for quality due to our nuclear systems that were produced on site with no major deficiencies over a three year period. Facilitated across DOD for consensus on Army acquisition policy. Led a worldwide Army Contracting Study Working Group of 35 senior acquisition officials on behalf of the Secretary of the Army tasked to recommend the best organizational alignment of the procurement and contracting functions and activities throughout the Army.
