As I was part of the original team and a subject matter expert, I assisted in training new employees when hired.In my time at EQC I processed approximately 3000 insurance claims from the Canterbury Earthquakes (major events being - 04/09/2010, 12/06/2011, 22/02/2011, 23/12/2011) to the point where the payment team would take over and processes for payout. The team audited over 4,500 permissions locations (i.e. concessions for Agricultural Permits, Wildlife Permits, Research and Collection Permits, Mining Agreements etc.), approximately 3,000 tracks and created over 700 new permission maps

      The research undertaken was for a thesis on the empowerment gained by a group of Timorese women (coming from a post-conflict, very under-developed country) from working in an offshore environment through a company which has a strong equal opportunities program.I assisted in interviewing 25 women, 5 men and key informants including the company owners. Each interview lasting at least 1 hour 30 minutes. Spending 1 month in the country was very important for understanding contextual issues.
