  Activities and Societies: Statistics Club (Fall 2022) After transferring from Central Virginia Community College, my new journey started at a different college in a new city. Since I had an Associate's Degree in General Engineering, I was originally an Electrical Engineering major before deciding to pursue a Statistics degree. Since I had an Associate's Degree in General Engineering, I was originally an Electrical Engineering major before deciding to pursue a Statistics degree. My love for math and my love for knowledge of the statistical aspect of engineering outweighed my interest in engineering. I made new memories, made new friends, and learned new life lessons as I grew to become a more confident, responsible adult. With a final GPA of 3.23, making the Dean's List in my final semester, I officially obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Statistics on December 16, 2022. Show less

  Activities and Societies: Polis (Creative Writing Club) Within the 3 years that I've been a student at CVCC, my overall grades weren't perfect, but the lessons I've learned in and out of class were the biggest highlights of what isn't shown on my transcript. I developed skills in creative writing, with 11 of my poetry published, I went from obese to a normal BMI in my freshman year, and in 2018, I received the Alliance for Excellence for African-Americans for maintaining a 3.0 GPA. I developed skills in creative writing, with 11 of my poetry published, I went from obese to a normal BMI in my freshman year, and in 2018, I received the Alliance for Excellence for African-Americans for maintaining a 3.0 GPA. During my final two years there, I was mentally drained because my grades were lower than what UVA, my original choice, wanted me to achieve. However, when I got accepted to Virginia Tech during the pandemic and got waitlisted by UVA, I realized that I didn't need UVA to become a success. My experiences at CVCC taught me that failure is a part of life and it's never the end. CVCC is the most influential educational institution because it helped me become the best version of myself.
