She read many of the popular YA books series, such as Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, Big Red, The Black Stallion and many others.Her first venture into writing came in 2nd grade when the assignment was to write and illustrate a book. Her book was titled The Turtle Who Loved Jazz. It was a big hit with the class. It was at that same time she realized she loved music and, like that turtle, wanted to play the saxophone.She continued to write stories whenever she had time. Her love of writing, however, took a back seat to her love for music. In college, along with all her music classes, she took a poetry class and realized again how much she loved to write.After college Didi took a job with a music publisher, typesetting sheet music for publication. She worked with that publisher for six years, and then decided to make a go of it as a freelancer. She has enjoyed a successful career as a music typesetter, winning numerous awards for her work.Reading and copyediting her oldest daughter Cassie’s books sparked her desire to find a way back to writing. That’s when she discovered AWAI. Through training with AWAI, Didi has become a talented copywriter, her specialty being the health and fitness market. She chose this market because of her struggles with her own fitness. She worked hard at a local kickboxing gym and became more and more fit. As that happened, the owner asked her to become a fitness coach and an instructor. She found that she loves helping people who are struggling with their own fitness goals. She understands their hopes and fears as she has had the same experiences. Through fitness and nutrition coaching she is able to guide them to healthier lifestyles.
