    • Ryanair Sun S.A.

      Aug 2017 - Mar 2022
      First Officer

As a senior first officer, my main responsibility is to make sure that all flights operate primarily safely, and in accordance with company SOP's, and secondly, that flights are conducted in an efficient manner.I enjoy the challenge and variety of airline flying; no two days are the same. I enjoy the operational challenges of some of the airport's that we fly to. For example, if I am flying to Madrid, I have to think carefully about density altitude and traffic volume, and also complex taxi routings. If I am flying to Tenerife, I need to think carefully about terrain separation, and low level turbulence/windshear. By always having a variety in my job, it keeps me mentally active, and helps me to build up a layer of TEM and resilience around me, so that I always operate as safely and efficiently as possible. I really enjoy flying the 737-800, and I consider myself highly privileged to work for such a professional and safety-focussed airline. I have been lucky enough to have been based both at Manchester airport, and Wroclaw, where I have learned to operate from both large and small airports, which has been an invaluable experience.
