2008 - 2012Doctor in Physics - PhD PhysicsI was located at the LNF-INFN working on the thesis “Lunar Laser Ranging and test of the Gravitational Constant variation”. Between 2008 and 2009 I also participated in Moonlight-P, the proposal included in the Phase A study for the lunar orbital mission MAGIA (ASI). Then I continued to work at the INFN-LNF approved experiments Moonlight-ILN (“International Lunar Network”, 2010-2012) and ETRUSCO-2 (2010-2012), a project of technological development for the Galileo satellite projects (ESA) and… Show more I was located at the LNF-INFN working on the thesis “Lunar Laser Ranging and test of the Gravitational Constant variation”. I followed the development of the payload and its characterization. I was involved in the coordination of the related experimental activities. In parallel I developed the lunar laser ranging data analysis through the PEP program (“Planetary Ephemeris Program”) with the goal to fix a more accurate limit on the Post Newtonian Parameters β and γ and put a more accurate limit on the variation of the Gravitational Constant. I participated in the LARES retroreflectors full characterization campaign. I attended the approved NASA proposal, for the design and construction of new laser retro-reflectors for a second generation of Lunar Laser Ranging experiment. I worked also for the experiment ETRUSCO (“Extra Terrestrial Ranging to a Unified Satellite Constellation” for the optical and thermal test of laser reflectors for GPS-II and of the satellite LAGEOS. All these activities were included in my thesis. Show less

1998 - 2004Master's degree in Physics Physics 108/110During my Master degree thesis work in Physics at the University of “RomaTre”, I participated in the O.A.S.I. experiment, with the goal to design and construct a new 4-channel photometer to be installed at Terranova Bay in Antarctica [3]. My original contribution was the in-house construction and calibration of RuO2 thermometers used in the O.A.S.I. photometer operations. I studied the construction and the characterization procedures of the “Spiderweb” bolometers and I acquired practical experience in the use of cryogenic liquids and associated vacuum technologies. Experience

CERN
Aug 2014 - Aug 2022The UA9 Collaboration has selected me as Run Coordinator for the activities at the H8 SPS extraction line. I’m also the responsible for the H8 data analysis concerning the bent crystals characterization for beam steering application. My original contribution is the study of the Inelastic Nuclear Interactions probability of high energy particles in bent crystals, from point of view of instrumentation, data taking, data analysis, and FLUKA simulations. In this context I supervised two Master degree students and I participated in the drafting of the related papers, for which I was also the “Corresponding Author”. Moreover I am coordinating the robustness tests of the LHC crystals exposed to high energy and intensity beam at CERN, following FLUKA simulations, hardware design, assembly, measurements procedures and second characterizations after the irradiation. In the same way I followed the high dose irradiation of crystals with neutrons and protons, aimed at the future SPS extraction. I am continuing my work about development and assembly of equipment, control procedures and data acquisition during the measurements activities in the experimental areas and control rooms (CERN Control Centre) of the SPS accelerator [5] and of the H8 extraction line, participating also in the crystal extraction tests (resonant and non-resonant) from the SPS. In 2017 I attended the CERN Accelerator School “Beam Injection, Extraction and Transfer” (Erice, Italy). I am also collaborating on a preliminary study for a new research project concerning the magnetic momentum measurement of short life charmed baryons studying their precessions in a bent crystal. This research project has been presented at the “Physics Beyond Colliders Workshop”. Recently I collaborated on the feasibility tests of splitting of the SPS circulating beam, using the channeling process in two crystals in a row. Show less
