  In my seven years serving on the Board of Executives I consulted on scientific progress in the understanding and treatment of Alcohol Dependence and Abuse. In that framework I trained staff and volunteers. My responsibilities included lecturing within the framework of alcohol information campaigns, speaking in schools to children, parents and teachers, as well as in various other venues throughout Greece that Νηφάλιοι organized and/or has been invited to.In those years the chief accomplishment was that Νηφάλιοι received the 2007 award of Best N.G.O. in Health Care and Prevention from the Greek Ministry of Health. The position included directing and supervising orientation, clubs and student activities and events. I also acted as a liaison between students and university faculty and administration. As an extension I also coordinated the environmental program of the Hellenic American Union. As co-coordinator and research associate I assisted research in Health Literacy financed by the Marie Curie Re-Integration Grant. Responsibilities included data collection, literature review, article write-up and basic statistical analysis. I also was responsible for research on other research projects on global migration issues, where coordinating data collection and processing.

  As Middle School Counselor I took great care to get to know each and every student individually and become their point of reference for assistance and trust. As counselor I provided crises intervention individual counseling and family meetings. Within the same framework I provided consultations for transitioning form and to another country and counseled TCK related issues. I assisted teachers in working more effectively with students with different needs and collaborated closely with the Learning Center. The work description included organizational matters such as M.A.P. testing, advisory, wellness events and individual Scheduling.
