      Responsible for overseeing all operations, programs, and expenditures of an American Alliance of Museums (AAM) accredited museum, including: organizing 10 exhibitions annually in 9,000+ square feet of galleries; overseeing the care and use of 4,000 works of art for teaching and research; supervising 2 FTE and 6 PTE; collaborating with the Office of Development in pursuit of donor cultivation and fundraising; writing and editing catalog essays, label text, press releases, and didactics; developing and teaching extended studies courses, independent studies, summer research fellowships, and museum studies courses. Past accomplishments: co-developed and implemented a new museum studies minor (2017); secured approximately $250,000 in internal and external grant awards (60 projects); added one FTE and one PTE to the gallery program staff. Established Restoring DePauw’s Treasures (RDT) Conservation Endowment with $675,000 in cash and committed gifts to date and created a new $30,000 unrestricted art acquisition fund. Coordinated the planning, funding, and consolidation of the permanent art collection in one centralized location, replaced all storage units with archival-grade equipment, and added security upgrades. Additionally, staff completed three Museum Assessment Programs through AAM and one Conservation Assessment Program through IMLS. Guided gallery program through initial AAM accreditation process in 2017-18. Successfully completed third-year faculty review in 2017. Show less

Assisted with the 2025 revision of the AAMG professional practices document for field-wide distribution.One of several national advisers for the 2018-19 AAMG Samuel H. Kress Foundation Museum Studies Planning Grant. Co-director for the 2019 AAMG Annual Conference at the University of Minnesota and the 2020 AAMG Annual Conference (online).       Craig currently serves as the Executive Director and Chief Curator of the Dennos Museum Center at Northwestern Michigan College, where he is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, programs, and expenditures for northwestern Michigan’s premier museum center. The museum features 20,000 square feet of permanent and rotating exhibition space, a children’s gallery, and one of the largest Inuit art collections in the United States. The DMC also programs a series of concerts, lectures, and performances in its 350+ seat Milliken Auditorium. Show less
