  When Baker Hughes replaced Nalco Champion as the chemical supplier of choice for the BP Kwinana refinery, I worked with the new personnel to ensure uninterrupted supply of chemicals, significantly contributing to the safe and reliable operation of the refinery. I passed on my experience and knowledge of refinery unit operations and how chemicals are effectively used within these. As well, my experience in developing the site safety management system to comply with the Accredited Contractor Program (ACP) was considered vital.My work involved the initial scoping stages of improvement projects. Examples were crude tank and heat exchanger cleaning, process water corrosion performance improvement and demulsifier dosing of the crude oil coming off the ships. I also worked on improvement initiatives with the site integrity team, particularly concerned with the identification and effective management of injection and mixing points and dead legs, and a review of corrosion monitoring activities on site.
