  I developed, managed, and implemented ten days of orientation, out-reach and transition programming for a diverse group of 300 incoming students (Orientation Week 2006 and 2007), trained and supervised 100 volunteer Orientation Leaders, managed a $40 000 budget, and wrote detailed reports on the planning, execution, and experience of Orientation Week.

  I managed ten student Orientation Chairs, providing them with group training and one-on-one assistance to facilitate the planning and execution of hundreds of orientation, out-reach and transition events. I chaired one-on-one and group meetings with university departments and administrative groups as well as external vendors. I coordinated with York Federation of Students and the Centre for Human Rights to develop and implement the first “Anti-Oppression: Intro to Social Justice” diversity training for student leaders. I organized and facilitated “Orient the Leader,” York’s day of training for 600 Orientation Leaders and was on call 24/7 during Orientation Week to provide emergency and problem solving assistance to Orientation Chairs.   I reviewed the History Opera Workshopa course developed and delivered by Dr. Natalie Mears at the University of Durham, UK, that looks at the relationship between opera and history, and provided suggestions for approach, potential subsequent workshops, and academic articles for Dr. David Dean. I developed and presented interactive training workshops, round-table and panel discussions, providing necessary training and resources for 50 History TAs. I worked with TA Mentors from other departments to develop and execute a university-wide day long training session for all TAs. I assisted with the teaching duties of HIST 3019 Social History of Alcohol and HIST 2309 History of Modern Latin America, including grading and evaluating student work, leading workshops, and providing one-on-one learning assistance. I also developed and delivered a lecture for HIST 2309A titled, "1968 Student Movement in Mexico City: Movement, Massacre and Memory."

  I worked independently and in partnership with archivists on five archival projects including a House of Commons Legacy Petitions appraisal, writing an administrative history of the Competition Bureau and Competition Tribunal, revising the reference guide “Sources for the Study of Japanese Canadians, 1941-1950” and researching and writing the exhibition panel for the LAC Canada Day exhibit of the Proclamation of the Constitution Act, 1982.

  I developed, managed, and executed all aspects of programming under the Arts & Heritage Portfolio—ranging from 18 day exhibits to one day events and third party programs for 1.3 million visitors. This involved curating and mounting exhibits, as well as overseeing the development and management of events and staff.
