  While working in the lab, I was provided with hands-on experience in neuro-immunology research, specifically working with neurodegenerative diseases in mind. In this project, we were able to partner with Alector, an SF-based biomedical company, and use their proprietary compounds in an effort to develop and carry out in vitro assays and techniques for measuring the kinetics of neuronal cell efferocytosis of murine neuroblasts by monocyte macrophages, using live-cell imaging for them. Our hope for the assay we developed was to open up the pathway to testing drugs and compounds that modulate efferocytosis in vitro which can lead to treatments for imbalances in efferocytotic activity as we age.   Royal ambulance

  Jan 2022 - now

  While working as an EMT, I also train new EMTs as they enter the field following their completion of schooling and National Registry exams. Responsibilities include driving an ambulance and working as the primary technician during interfacility transports to and from hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and residences. Occasional responsibilities include being called into the 911 system for mutual aid.
