  Forensic nurse examiner

  For eight years as a Forensic Nurse Examiner, I provided comprehensive, forensic medical care to adult, adolescent, and child victims of acute sexual assault in a patient-centered environment. Care also included the identification and collection of evidence, maintaining chain-of-custody, and testimony in criminal justice proceedings. I also mentored new trainees, participated in peer-review, and identified evidence-based practice.

  As a forensic investigator, I performed death scene investigations in Montgomery County, Maryland. Investigations included: establishing decedent's history, documenting and evaluating the scene and decedent's body, interdisciplinary collaboration, and coordinating referral and transportation of deceased while maintaining jurisdiction. I was a board certified diplomate of the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators®.
