  I am responsible for the rapid delivery of innovation projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, to the satisfaction of the customer and within budget by prioritising resources, removing roadblocks and establishing best practice. I own and am defining the Agile framework for James Walker Innovation projects, driving cultural adoption of agile for hardware within the organisation and holding cross-functional teams accountable for adherence to process.I work closely with the Project Sponsors and industry experts to set the scope and schedule for priority projects, and monitor progress to ensure regular and timely delivery of value. I also lead the ‘Product Innovation Steering Group’ or senior project stakeholders, tasked with reviewing project prioritisations and resourcing challenges. This role also had a greater emphasis on the design and development of sealing products, requiring clear and effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders both within James Walker and externally. I was responsible for the expansion and development of my team. I had line management accountability for two Product Engineers, but I also played a key role in the development of others outside my own team by delivering advice and guidance that promotes individual growth. Show less This role built on the work I did as an Applications Engineer but required greater autonomy. The role had more emphasis on leading teams and developing and managing others. I was responsible for work relating to the ‘Marine Propulsion’ industry, whilst managing the workload of myself and another Applications Engineer. I took an active role in the development of new recruits into the company. This included sharing knowledge, encouraging individuals to take ownership of work and actively assigning recruits to tasks that would aid their development. I provided conceptual and final designs of sealing solutions for customer and product development team driven projects. I complied with relevant procedures such as ISO 9001 and recognised and interpreted international, customer and company standards. I gave advice on seal application and fitting, in addition to investigating seal failures. This includes writing reports and recommending and implementing corrective and preventative action.
