I managed the government purchase card program for 3 months unsupervised while my civilian counterpart was out for medical reasons. I performed 100% Government Purchase card inspections to ensure the users were in compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR). I taught a class for new cardholders to instruct them on using the Government Purchase card and how not to use it. I worked in requesting quotes for high dollar contracts and analyzed the received quotes to find the best value and lowest price to ensure the mission continued without any problems. I performed site visits for construction contracts. I was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi freedom with the Defense Contract Management Agency as a Contract Administrator where I worked on the multi-billion dollar KBR contract. I assisted in putting together a system to track meal requests through the dining facilities so that troops going off the base could enjoy a hot meal. I stopped fraud, waste and abuse in the same program and ensure that those who needed the program received the support they required.
