  At Berkeley High School I taught Biology, Integrated Science and Integrated Science for English Language Learners. It was an absolute pleasure to embrace the diverse learning culture that makes BHS such a fun and exciting place to work. At BHS, I developed student-centered pedagogy often involving open-ended student inquiry as a cornerstone of my craft.

  At Bina Bangsa School (BBS), I taught Biology within the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Educaiton (IGCSE) curricula. At this time I also served as a House Master for the school's inter-house artistic and athletic competitions. Perhaps my best accomplishment at BBS, was initiating the Go Green club. Through the club, I launched a school recycling program, planted a green wall and established the school as a participant in Clean Up Jakarta Day whereby the entire school picked up trash in the area surrounding the school as part of a city-wide annual event.   At The Canadian International School, I strive to promote collaborative and transparent processes within the Science Department where decisions are always centered on whats best for students. In addition to my Head of Department role, I also teach Biology in both the International Baccalaureate (IB) and Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) curricula.

  In the classroom, I have been really proud of the interdisciplinary project based lessons that that I have co-planed and facilitated with my colleagues. Our scholars have been able to engage in meaningful authentic learning experiences that have had a positive impact on the lives of others outside of our school walls. Through my role as the Academic Intervention Teacher on Special Assignment, I have been working hard to ensure that interventions are student-centered, tiered and guided by data. As a restorative practices trainer, I have promoted equitable outcomes by working with individuals to ensure appropriate harm repair resulting in a more positive school culture. Show less
