  As a research assistant in the CONNECT by Prof Dr. Ong Wee Jun research group, I contributed to innovative projects centered on energy materials and their applications. My responsibilities included:1. Conducting literature reviews and summarizing recent developments in the field of energy materials, particularly in relation to electro/photocatalytic hydrogen production and CO2 reduction.2. Assisting in the design and implementation of experiments to synthesize and characterize novel materials, including nanostructures and composites.3. Utilizing techniques such as photoelectrochemical testing, spectroscopy, and microscopy to evaluate the performance and properties of synthesized materials.4. Collaborating with team members to analyze data and interpret results, contributing to the preparation of research papers and presentations for conferences.5. Engaging in discussions and brainstorming sessions to develop new project ideas and improvements in research methodologies.This role enhanced my laboratory skills, provided hands-on experience in cutting-edge research, and deepened my understanding of energy materials, contributing to my growth as a researcher.
