  I was responsible for the implementation and day to day running of the Trusts network. Shortly after I started, the Trust started to move away from legacy serial networking and we started to install Ethernet over Fibre, 10BaseT and UTP cabling and implement TCP/IP networking. As sole operator I was responsible for the day to day running of the Trusts computer systems to include backups, tape rotation, submission of batch processing jobs and printing and sorting the output from those jobs.

  I'm part of a small team that provides third level support to the Foundations technical infrastructure. As Technical Lead my colleagues look to me to make decisions about how we implement solutions and take the lead when issues and incidents arise.My particular technical strong points are VMWare Administration, SAN configuration (Falconstor, HP & Hitachi) including fibre channel switching and TCP/IP networking principly using Cisco hardware but also including HP Procurve.Where I can I will coach and mentor my colleagues in each of these areas; passing on my knowledge which improves the overall performance of the team.
