      Jun 2002 - Jul 2021
      Lead Pyrotechnic Shooter

I volunteered as a licensed pyrotechnic for professional firework shows in Sheridan, Wyoming. I was responsible for budgeting, planning, and coordinating individual portions of a larger public display of pyrotechnics. I was responsible for maintaining State and Federal guidelines as well as safety protocols during the public displays. I worked with 4 to 6 other pyrotechnics and I was responsible for overseeing the work of 2 to 3 individuals. I worked with computer aided programs to digitally choreograph firework shows to music for a more accurate and visually intriguing display. Show less

    • University of Wyoming

      Aug 2008 - Dec 2011

While completing my Master's degree and thesis, I worked as a graduate assistant. I was responsible for designing, constructing, and building a novel warm walled semi-batch-reactor with precision mass flow controllers and temperature regulators to test thin film composites on silicon carbide fibers. I wrote the lab procedures used for the experiment involving the reactor and maintained the proper running order of the devices being used.I collected and processed the data from the products of the experiment and I was responsible for trouble shooting any major issues that arose during the operation. I analyzed and interpreted the data and made changes to the experiment parameters to get the desired results out of the reactor. I collected all the data and results from the experiments and presented them to a variety of audience members during my successful defense of my research thesis.During the assistantship, I oversaw the working order of a research lab and mentored 2 undergraduate lab research assistants. Show less I worked in an undergraduate research lab testing metal nano-particle formation from metal salts onto silicon testing wafers in stirred batch reactors. I was in charge of rebuilding and refurbishing the experiment parameters, including the re-machining of a former Master's student research project on nano-particle formation in a continuous stirred batch reactor. I tested the formation of metal nano-particle particulate sizes based on temperature, concentration of salts, time in the reactor, and the metal salt being used. I was responsible for analyzing the tested sample results and reformulating the testing parameters based on the results compared to the desired outcomes. I was tasked with coming up with new laboratory procedures for the experiments, as well as maintaining accurate lab notes on all the experiments that were performed. Show less
