The primary objective of an STC is to establish a collaborative partnership with these systems to facilitate the individual's success and develop strength-based skills based on the START model.In this capacity, the STC engages in a comprehensive process that involves identifying and addressing gaps within the individual's Bio-Psycho-Social system. By doing so, the STC helps establish a stable structure that promotes the well-being of the individual. Duties performed by an STC include coordinating care among various stakeholders, managing schedules, facilitating skill-building exercises, implementing PERMA (Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, and Accomplishment) or Strength Spotting techniques, developing discharge plans, and advocating for the individual's needs.Furthermore, the STC plays a crucial role in crisis prevention and managing potential escalations within the individual and the systems surrounding them. This often involves providing on-the-spot therapeutic interventions, utilizing evidence-based methods such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).Overall, the STC's responsibilities encompass coordinating care, skill development, PERMA/strength-based approaches, discharge planning, advocacy, crisis prevention, and therapeutic interventions.
