  Engineering Student Volunteer

  For Caltrans District 10, I assisted the Structures Construction team on the Highway 65B precast girder bridge extension. I worked closely with civil engineers on inspecting bridge construction related to rebars, bent caps, deck panels, elevations, concrete mixtures, smoothness of bridge surface with a profilograph, and I obtained concrete samples for testing. I looked at site plans, and under supervision I was able to accept, reject or correct the field findings.

  Engineering Architect Student Intern

  I started working at the Sacramento Area Sewer District (SASD) doing Television Inspection (TVI) review, under the Engineering Operations Support Group. My responsibility was to inspect the condition of SASD’s lower laterals, and to determine the necessary actions to maintain uninterrupted service to the location. Based on my observations, I updated the laterals' attributes and wrote work orders such as repairs, replacements, lining of pipes, and hydro preventative maintenance.In June of 2016, I joined the Engineering Operations Support Flow Monitoring Unit where we maintain probes and equipment in SASD’s manholes. I assist with setting up traffic control and confined space equipment and lowering confined space entrants into manholes. I also work with civil engineers where we analyze the flow data to evaluate what equipment would need to be replaced, calibrated or cleaned. I collect data on the accuracy of our used probes using the quality control test bench, and I assist with reviewing and analyzing rain gage data throughout the Sacramento region. Show less
