  Worked with stakeholders in the aquatic trade industry, including aquarium hobbyists, land managers, teachers, and scientists. Reviewed scientific literature and applied results to develop outreach tools. Implemented a community science program for educators and students to monitor invasive crawfish populations. Wrote a protocol for participants to follow and led workshops that provided tools and know-how to educators so that they could collect, identify, and report invasive crawfish with their students.   Researched transport and retention of microplastics under varying environmental conditions in experimental streams and during seasonal storm events in an urban river. Results provide the basic information that is needed to know where microplastics are in environments and how they travel across ecosystems, contributing to the development of a global microplastic budget. Each semester, taught two sections of an undergraduate biology lab course (Introductory Biology Lab I & II). Weekly, provided lectures on material including genetics, life cycles, and anatomy, and guided students through learning activities.
