NNFCC covers the full range of uses for biomass (biofuels, bioenergy, biomaterials, biochemicals etc) as well as biomass resources. I led the NNFCC's biofuels and bioenergy portfolio, leading on strategy development, programme management and programme delivery. I also delivered numbers of projects, either by myself or as part of a team. Member of the REA’s Pyrolysis and gasification and Road Transport Fuels Groups, Warwick University’s Wealth out of Waste project review panel and Aberystwyth University’s Grassohol project Scientific Advisory Group.   The ETI is a public-private partnership between global energy and engineering companies and the UK Government. Its role is to bring together engineering projects that accelerate the development of affordable, secure and sustainable technologies that helps the UK address its long term emissions reductions - See more at: http://www.eti.co.ukI led the Bioenergy Programme (and in 2018 the CCS programme too) for the ETI. The programme culminated with the delivery of the multi-million £ gasification demonstration project: the 1.5MWe waste gasification demonstration project led by KEW Technologies and being built in Wednesbury in the West Midlands. The gasification project will yield an ultra clean syngas for use in a syngas fuelled engine - it will also be possible to produce fuels and chemicals from the clean syngas using the slipstream test facility. I was sorry to leave the ETI but needs must as it was only set up as a 10 year programme - I gained a lot from it. The ETI finally closed its doors at the end of 2019. Show less
