      Cultural Exchange

      Activities and Societies: Sailing, Ultimate Frisbee, Photography, Football, Rock Climbing, Canoeing, Ranging. I had the opportunity to undertake an exchange in Lakefield, Ontario as part of the Round Square cultural exchange programme. My time there was extraordinary and exposed me to all new experiences and opportunities. If I had to pick my favourite memory from several cherished ones, it would have to be canoeing across Lake Katchewanooka, just to get a cup of hot chocolate between classes.

Since their first satellite launch in 1991, TU Berlin has established itself as the leading university in the area of small- and nano-satellite technology with over a dozen successful launches.Through a combination of training from industry veterans and hands-on projects, I have been able to explore the various… Show more I was accepted into the Master of Space Engineering programme at the prestigious Technische Universität Berlin, alma mater to Wernher von Braun, architect of the Saturn V. Since their first satellite launch in 1991, TU Berlin has established itself as the leading university in the area of small- and nano-satellite technology with over a dozen successful launches.Through a combination of training from industry veterans and hands-on projects, I have been able to explore the various aspects involved in planning, building, launching and operating a space system. I am taking electables in areas of Satellite Technology and Human Spaceflight.I am a part of TUPEX-8, a 40-strong university student team developing a sounding rocket mission. As the systems engineer, and a payload author, I got to present our concept at a 2-day selection workshop hosted by the German Space Agency (DLR) in Bonn, as part of their Rocket Experiments for University Students (REXUS) programme. As part of my final year Masters project, I studied the human factors involved in visual inspection task design. I utilised sample generation, Python programming, live human experimentation, extensive data analysis and research as part of my study.       Cubscribe Journalism Contest TheWeek 2009 As part of a student team, I was tasked with producing a two-page spread for TheWeek, a national weekly.
