      Officer Martini started his career as a correction officer at Sussex County Jail and Rahway State Prison. He had direct supervision of high profile prisoners as the Morris County Killer, James Koedatich, Rubin "Hurricane" Carter and the Cuban Detention Unit and deportation hearings from the flotilla movement, let in by President Jimmy Carter in 1979 and 1980, to name a few. He was also a member of the jails C.E.R.T. and Special-Ops Units as well as a PR-24 and Riot Formations Instructor.He was later hired by the N.J. State Police, graduated basic training at Sea Girt and was assigned to the Marine and Aviation Unit. He was assigned to OP-Sail for the reopening of the Statue of Liberty in 1986. He also flew with the State Police Aviation Unit inland and over the waterways for surveillance of criminal activities and/or persons in need of rescue and also attended the NJSP Rescue School at Troop A H-Qtrs in Hammonton. He later joined Mt. Olive Police Dept. Prior to his retirement in 2009, Martini had served assignments in the Patrol Division, Investigative Division, the S.O.U. Team and the Morris County Fugitive Task Force, where felons were apprehended and returned to N.J. from within the state and also New York and Ohio. He had also initiated the PR-24 program to the department and had instructed it for 15 years. He also completed H.I.D.T.A., a narcotics school in New York City and was trained by the F.B.I. as a Hostage Negotiator. He also designed and instructs crisis intervention for the department and other agencies, on effective handling of the mentally ill and suicidal subjects. He received 21 service medals and also awards from the Morris County 200 Club as a Valor Honoree, Flanders Fire Department for a life saving and the Knights of Columbus Shield Award for his involvement in apprehending a bank robbery suspect. He was also credited with solving over 50 + plus burglaries in Morris, Sussex and Warren counties. Show less

      Law Enforcement Consultant, Specialized In Persons with Mental Illness and Suicidal Persons

      I've instructed the Mt. Olive Police Dept., officers and dispatchers in the areas of mentally ill and suicidal persons. Ive also instructed this course in-service at the Somerset County Police Academy from 2009 to 2013.I was also a guest speaker at St. Elizabeths College and Caldwell University on the mental illness and suicide overview as well as Stockton State College and several local high schools on the topic of "Bullying"​, through the N.J. State Humanities Council.I have also conducted numerous debriefings for police officers involved in critical incidents., related to the Morris County Critical Incident Debriefing Team. In Brotherhood, I will always be accessible to the men and women in blue, who've experienced a traumatic incident, who are in crisis or just need to talk to someone who understands.
