      Co-founded Luvn'local in 2011 straight out of college and sold it off in 2013. Luvn'local was a marketing platform we built for small businesses to use in order to retain their customers. We were positioned as the anti-Groupon, and launched in Cambridge. During my tenure at the company, I took on a variety of responsibilities. My day to day tasks included:Product management: As a founder, it was partially my job to make sure that our product development was in line with the guiding principles of what luvn'local was. Even if I didn't have the technical expertise, I knew exactly what our final product should have done for our customers.Legal: As a bootstrapped start up, we did not have the necessary capital to hire legal counsel. Instead, I used whatever resources I could in order to do the legal work on my own. This included everything from incorporation, vesting schedules, employment agreements, IP ownership, and company sales documents.HR: Since our company was a student start up at its heart, we chose to hire interns to help us with functions we were not able to do. In this capacity, I scoured campuses for prime candidates, reviewed resumes, interviewed potential hires, and managed our intern team.Business Development: We had to do a lot of "street" marketing to get our name out. We did a direct mail campaign to our local businesses, sponsored events, won a start up contest, gave presentations, and walked the streets. To sign up early adopters, I walked into local stores and spoke to the owners about our product. We even swayed prominent locals into evangelizing our brand.Finance: Through out my time at Luvn'local, we constantly were on the lookout for financing. I built out our presentation materials, connected with investors, and gave pitches.
