      Activities and Societies: As a graduate student, I was selected to manage the University Counselor Training Clinic, which was an amazing first experience in clinic operations and community service organizations. I was nominated and accepted into Chi Sigma Iota-The National Honor Society in Counseling. At completion of my Master’s degree, I was designated “outstanding graduate”, which is a top academic honor for the school of counseling and education at CSUB. I completed coursework and training for a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology.

      In addition to other roles, I maintain a steady stream of private clients, contracted through various agencies for consultations, intensive individual and family support, mental health and family education, parent education and support, as well as frequent support groups for trauma, parenting, ALS and other life-altering illnesses, and grief and loss.

      I supervised a treatment team of therapists, case managers, and support staff under contract with the Kern County Mental Health system of care. I worked as a therapist for the North Bakersfield treatment team, addressing behavior, mental health, and family issues with families of school-aged children. This work involved therapy in a wide variety of modalities and settings, including traditional individual, family, couples, and group counseling. I also provided school-based counseling and consultation for educators.
