  For my internship I worked in the finance division of iOCO Digital and reported directly to the Finance Director. Some of my tasks included:- Working on an IFRS 15 (Revenue from contracts) project where I had to analyze some of the businesses largest projects and ensure that revenue had been correctly recognized.- Involved in the preparation and analysis of international holding structure and international inter-company loans.- IFRS 9 analysis on debtors and assessment of long outstanding debtors.- Preparation of financial ratios to support management decision making.- Preparation of half year reports for budgeted vs actual revenue for management. - Casting and correction of EOH Mthombo AFS as well as working with the preparation and audit teams to ensure accurate AFS.   During the 2 days I experienced talks from various managers and partners regarding topics such as ethics, auditing and documentation to advisory and financial services. We engaged in team building games as well as gained insight on how to navigate and compile working papers on an audit.

  Participated in the following group activities:-The first project was a business-based challenge to design a product for the bank to offer to clients that would be a first in the market and pitch the idea to a panel of judges who criticized the feasibility of the product, the likelihood of the customers using the product and its profitability.-The second project was a culture-based task to create a short video representing the culture of Investec. My team placed in the top 3 for this challenge. During the course of Pathfinder, I experienced talks and presentations from a variety of members throughout the bank to get a wholistic picture of the different divisions as well as the variety of opportunities available to trainees during their 3 years of articles.
