      Master of Science - MSc Animal Behavior and Ethology Distinction

      This Master's degree was comprised of one year of taught courses and one research year to create a thesis.For my courses, I studied behaviour, environmental animal physiology, research in human and animal neuropsychology, marine biology and ecology, evolutionary ecology, research preparation and research proposal. For my thesis, I investigated social learning in the common brushtail possum (Trichosurus vulpecula) providing the first evidence of such abilities in these animals!

      I was employed at Westland Milk Products over the summer between finishing my Bachelors degree and beginning my Masters, with an additional request to return to work during the COVID-19 lockdown due to vulnerable staff being unable to work. I serve as sole tutor for the BIOL354 crab heart rate lab, teaching and grading laboratory reports that contribute to the student's overall academic performances.

While continuing my responsibilities in the Sampling department, I gained hands-on experience in the Chemistry laboratory, developing valuable skills in food chemistry and building proficiency in FOSS analytical equipment and the newly integrated LIMS software.
