  I prepare the machine for each production task. This can include entering information into computer-controlled machines, or adjusting machine settings were need be such as speed. I also perform tests to ensure the machine is set properly, and then operate the machine for normal production. While the machine is operating, i monitor the equipment to ensure proper function throughout the production process. I also randomly test or measure products or parts to ensure that they meet specifications. After production is completed, i clean or recalibrate machines.   Employment ResponsibilitiesMy responsibilities include hiring, training, evaluating and retaining employees. Monitoring employees while they work. By watching the employees work, I also ensures that each member of the team is meeting his performance requirements, and that all safety standards are being followed. When the performance of an employee falls below the accepted standards, i take corrective action and make recommendations to improve compliance.Scheduling ResponsibilitiesScheduling responsibilities are another portion of my job duties. It's up to me(production supervisor) to determine how best to utilize the workers in order meet production goals as efficiently as possible. One way of accomplishing this is by monitoring the amount of authorized overtime employees are allowed. However, in busy times, it may be necessary to increase production to 12 hours a day, and possibly even hire temporary employees to fill in any gaps. Show less
