  Leading all people, quality, velocity and cost deliverables for this industrial diesel engine manufacturer, I oversaw two product platforms with 600 production and support staff, producing 120,000 diesel engines per annum across multiple shifts with >700 finished engine variants.Led the development, planning and execution of continuous improvement activities ensuring alignment to the overall Medium Engines business strategy through the deployment of the Caterpillar Production System. I held full P&L and operational accountability for Small Engine business, managing a 120-strong workforce across production (assembly, test & finish), quality, maintenance, supply chain, operational logistics and manufacturing engineering.Establishing the company’s first engine production facility in China, I had a lead role in this major initiative from breaking ground to facility opening with first customer engines delivered within six weeks of start-up.   I led all production activities and associated support groups for Caterpillar Marine Propulsion Products, covering production, operational logistics, quality and technical services for new sales, aftermarket and global control systems.Manufacturing included highly complex machining processes for predominantly ‘engineer-to-order’ product range, and aftermarket parts manufacture includes product refurbishment and global parts distribution.
