  Shaun was the national 316a service line lead, a geographic area engineering lead and a project manager for ENERCON. He has extensive project experience in 316a demonstrations, water quality assessments and flooding hazard evaluations, along with other water resource and environmental projects. Shaun was the project manager and/or technical lead for many of these evalutions. Shaun directed, oversaw and performed evaluations related to thermal (plume) dispersion, water quality, coastal storm surge, wave effects (runup/overtopping), seiche, tsunami, riverine flooding, local intense precipitation runoff, flood loadings, projectile strikes, groundwater flow, internal leakage and sedimentation (erosion/scour). Each evaluation required site-specific and regional meteorological studies and storm climatologies, including sea level rise and climate change-related impacts (e.g., storm intensification, storm frequency). In most applications, flooding was assessed with detailed numerical modeling. Annual damage risk potential was computed to inform decision making, future planning and physical/procedural modifications.Final flood hazard reports were submitted for federal regulatory review and accepted by contracted hydrologic/hydraulic experts. Shaun served as the subject matter expert for 316a demonstrations, water quality and site flooding, including in regulatory inspections and audits. Shaun performed independent techncial reviews of storm surge and wave effects reevaluations and provided technical guidance for shore protection structure design.Outside of technical work, Shaun supervised 10 engineering staff members in the Pittsburgh (New Stanton, PA) office.
