    • Principia College

      Aug 2015 - Dec 2017
Graduate Assistant/ Assistant Sports Information Director

As a graduate assistant I worked full-time for the Principia College Athletic Department. As the only GA at times, or as one of three, I had many responsibilities and autonomy in regard to producing and disseminating communication. Most of my work was published across various digital media outlets, and I enjoyed finding new ways to communicate the excitement of collegiate athletics to various audiences by generating over 50 press releases, 40 promotional videos, and countless photos and print/social media designs. I also was the assistant coach for seven seasons of cross country and track & field. I primarily served as the head throws coach. However, I worked with the sprints and jumps athletes, and became the head pole vault coach. I helped coach 5 athletes to the NCAA DIII Championships. While working as a GA, I pursued my Master's Degree in Communication, with a focus in Public Relations. I also served the needs of the department by managing over 150 athletic events. Including organizing the college's first campus-wide pep-rally in over two decades. Which all provided me with the event management experience that was needed to manage the 2017 NCAA DIII Cross Country National Championships. Show less

    • NCAA DIII Cross Country Nationals

      Aug 2017 - Dec 2017
      Assistant Communications Director

I worked as the Assistant Communication Director for the 2017 NCAA DIII Cross Country National Championships, hosted by Principia College. Due to personnel changes, I was the only member of the college staff solely dedicated to the championships. I coordinated with the executive offices, and with about 20 in-house departments such as campus security, media services, health services, dining services, marketing, alumni, housekeeping, mail/copy services, and the executive office to make sure that everyone was on the same page and that the Principia brand was well-represented to over 4,000 visitors. Which turned out to be the biggest event the college has ever had. I also designed posters, banquet tickets, menus, directional signage, and videos. I also recruited and managed over 300 student-workers and volunteers. It was an amazing opportunity to work closely with the NCAA governing board to make sure that the championships met their logistical and brand standards. Show less
