  Start-to-finish Centralised Maintenance Build for BP’s Global Asset Fleet – Changing CMMS from Maximo to SAPWorked as part of an inter-disciplinary team of senior and junior engineers on all aspects of building a Functional Location Hierarchy (FLH) for the initial stages of the CMMS build.Key tasks included: • Assigning equipment class codes and failure codes for all items required to be included in the CMMS.• Constructing a suitable equipment hierarchy to allow for maintenance tasks on-site to be carried out effectively and efficiently.• Preparing and cleansing the existing data ready to be sent to the Bill of Material’s team to create appropriate BoM’s for input into the CMMS.Good organisational skills were required to handle large quantities of technical data.The ability to interpret engineering drawings, including: P&ID’s; electrical diagrams; single-line diagrams; and plant layout drawings, to extract relevant information for input into the FLH was also important.   In general, my role as a Drilling Engineer encompasses the following:• Detailed planning of operations to be performed offshore• Working closely with other disciplines, including: Geologists, Reservoir Engineers, Production Engineers and Well Intervention Engineers• Time and cost estimating• Risk assessments• Liaising closely with service companies to coordinate project deliverables and order equipment for offshore operations• Writing drilling programs• Drawing and verifying well barrier schematics (WBS’s)• Writing detailed operational procedures (DOP’s)• Providing support from onshore towards offshore operations• Travelling offshore as a company engineer to provide assistance to the offshore drilling supervisor (DSV) Show less As a part of the Equinor Corporate Graduate Program, during my first two years I had the opportunity to work across three different departments – allowing me to experience a range of roles within the upstream oil and gas business at Equinor.My first and second rotations were as a Drilling Engineer on the Statfjord field, now a part of Equinor’s Field Life Extension (FLX) Unit. My main tasks in this unit were:• Involvement in the detailed planning and execution phases of a 5 well plug and abandonment (P&A) campaign on the Statfjord A platform• Concept selection and detailed planning of a workover operation on a cuttings re-injection (CRI) well on the Statfjord B platform• Supporting the Statfjord FLX planning team by providing assistance in the planning phases of various wells, including drawing of operational well barrier schematics (WBS’s) and performing time and cost estimationsMy final rotation was as a drilling engineer in the International and Exploration Drilling (IED) planning department. My main task there was to plan and execute the complex abandonment of a legacy appraisal well on the UKCS. Within this I was exposed to new challenges, specific to subsea wellheads, such as wellhead fatigue damage and planning operations from a mobile drilling unit (MDU). Show less
