  At Taste Catering, structure is of the utmost importance. If any people or pieces are out of place, not only does the flow of work slow down, but the event itself and the idea our client presented may not be fulfilled. Setting up bars pre-event involves working with the other bartenders to split product as needed between any bar stations, tranporting tables, linens, ice, containers, and product to any location needed, and setting up glassware in an efficient, precise manner. Bartending requires intimate knowledge of mixed drinks, beers and wines, and the ability to serve requested drinks quickly and without error, keeping the bar area clean and sending runners to collect clean glassware if the supply is low. After the event finishes, bartenders are expected to count their product and pack any remaining bottles and garnishes in an organized fashion and seal off any opened containers, then help strike the rest of event. Show less During event set-up, all tables, linens, chairs, decorations, and busing stations must be finished at least half an hour before the event is to begin. The pre-event rush is an exercise both physically and mentally, with the need to carry all equipment to its destination and the need to adapt to any unforeseen problems or accidents. Serving requires precise coordination between team members to ensure all stations are fully-prepared throughout the event, carrying meals or hors d'oeuvres through crowded venues. Servers are expected to be efficient, with little time to bring food out on the floor when needed. Post-event, during strike, all staff are expected to clean the venue and pack up all equipment, leaving no trash or products behind. Show less
