  Summer Research Intern

  My work during the course of the internship was centered around the Thirty Metre Telescope,an upcoming Extremely Large Telescope(ELT) in Hawaii. I worked on the High Resolution Optical Spectrograph (HROS) which is currently in the planning and discussion phase.I worked on 3 major areas throughout the course of the internship.Firstly, I reviewed the designs and technologies incorporated in various 8-10m telescopes which are in operation as of today and upcoming telescopes such as ELT-HIRES and GMT and studied the various merits, demerits and factors which prompted the usage of these designs and technologies.Secondly, I developed algorithms on Python for optic fibre allocation for the TMT-HROS and moved on to improve the efficiency of the base algorithm by overlap and ranking mechanisms. Thirdly, I designed certain pre existing and new concepts for fibre pick off arms for the TMT-HROS on CATIA V5 R20.Throughout the course of the internship I gained various useful skills such as patience, hard work, visualization and practical scientific approaches to modern day problems in the field of instrumentation and design.   I worked on various projects during my internship.Firstly, I worked in design of a Tabletop garden using CATIA V5 R20,Secondly, I helped in an air purity IoT device using Arduino and MQ2 sensor,Thirdly, I worked on the business side and helped create a Business Model Canvas and generate leads for new clients.I also attended "Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship", a crash course in the field by the CEO of FluxGen, Mr Ganesh Shankar.During my time as an intern I also helped create InfluxTalks, an educational platform to find new fields of interest.
