Employed as a Systems Engineer / Lead Technician with Communication systems in Casper Wyoming. I began my employment with CSI as a field technician. Later when additional technicians were hired I would oversee their work and provide on the job training to the junior technicians and apprentices. Over the years I studied NFPA Codes and Standards, and building codes needed to test for NICET certification and eventually obtained a NICET IV in Fire Alarm Systems. I self-taught myself Autocad in order to support field projects I was assigned to and have the ability to update as built drawings. I was later assigned as the systems design engineer /project manager as a result of these efforts. My primary responsibilities were the layout and design fire alarm systems using Notifier Fire alarm Equipment, evaluating and preparing bid proposals for new work, project cost estimating and technical support. have had experience designing and installing fire alarm systems ranging from small conventional panels to large voice and fire alarm network systems. In addition to designing fire alarm systems I also have experience in the layout and design of Nurse call, PA/sound systems, CCTV systems and major access control / security systems. I worked closely with engineers, AHJ’s and end users form the design phase to the end product. I reviewed drawings to ensure that the fire alarm systems were code compliant during the bidding process and work with customers to ensure code issues were addressed. I provided technical support for field technicians installing intercom systems, Notifier Fire alarm panels, nurse call systems, sound systems, data networks, clocks, and CCTV systems. I develop bid packages from Job specifications and engineering drawings, This includes labor costs, product/material selection, detail drawings, and review to ensure all current NFPA and building codes are being met.
