      Industrial placement year, this involved the manufacture and testing of lubricant additives. The nature of my project work involved using micelle / surfactant technology to disperse a basic material within an organic medium. Experience was gained in the analysis of the detergent component which included Infrared spectroscopy, Ultra-violet spectroscopy, Lasers (Photon Correlation Spectroscopy- Particle Sizing) and finally testing the stability of detergent components within a finished additive package.
