  Road Traffic Accident Research focusing on secondary safety - the mechanisms of how people are injured in accidents and measures to mitigate these injuries. This included physical inspections, data analysis, writing papers for global conferences and managing a remote investigation team.

  Taking groups of holidaymakers on expeditions throughout Europe and ScandinaviaInitially part-time as a tour leader and speaker, but then took a year out (94-95) to work full time, which included training as a coach and heavy goods vehicle driver.Then continued in my spare time for a couple of years.

  Training IT professionals on Microsoft Products at home and abroad. Working through the whole training cycle from needs analysis, through course development and delivery, to feedback and iteration. This was a hugely enjoyable and high-pressured environment, which ranged from teaching Word and Excel to receptionists to compressing 8 days of systems training into 5 days for the US Army in Germany. A great company to work for.

  Using about 50% of my time to get out and meet folk in the community and create opportunities for us all to 'do life' together; e.g. Film Club, Mums and Toddlers group, Beer and Blokes evenings, Discover the Bible groups, Messy Church, Wellbeing Cafés. Also a member of the Parish Council. Encouraging, challenging and even annoying people towards their full potential.Served as a School Governor and a Trustee of Salcare, a vital local charity, for 10 years.Set up a popular regeneration movement and created a thriving community fair.Salcare - www.salcare.org.ukLove Heanor - www.facebook.com/LoveHeanorHeanor Community Fair - https://www.facebook.com/Heanor-Community-Fair-553757824682557/ Voluntarily ran a small local church following a time of great upheaval.I financed this by providing Transport Support for Cheshire Probation Service.
