Independently investigate complaints of unsafe working conditions, identify workplace safety and health hazards, and recommend corrective action. Determine what occupational safety and health standards are violated by identified hazards and prepare citations, reports, and correspondence accordingly. Conduct inspections of factories, construction sites and other places of employment including those with the most complex operations and greatest hazards to workers, to determine whether employers are operating in conformance with the state’s occupational safety and health standards.
